About Your Instructor
Hello!
My name is Laura. And yes, you can call me by my first name!
I was born in the greater area of Portland, Oregon and raised in Longview, Washington. I earned my first degree in Music in 2014 from Western, Washington in Bellingham. In 2020, I went back to school to earn my second degree in Music Education, as well as my Master’s in Education, graduating in 2024. As the Covid-19 pandemic swept the globe, there was a rise in online and alternative learning formats that shaped the landscape of education, ultimately popularizing online learning formats. Now, with the new world at your fingertips, you can tap into just about any field of learning, including music education.
Today, I teach band, choir, and general music in Gold Beach, Oregon on the Southern Oregon Coast. I also perform with the Ellensburg Theatre for their holiday musicals.
All you need is a screen, some sort of camera, some sort of microphone, and some sort of piano. Oh, and don’t forget to carve out a little bit of time to practice, too!
